How much does a local move cost?
Local moves are charged hourly starting at $160/hr for 2 movers + truck. The average 2-bedroom apartment takes 3-4 hours, while a 3-bedroom house typically takes 4-6 hours. We have a 3.5-hour minimum which includes 30 minutes travel time to/from our warehouse.
Do you charge for travel time?
The first 30 minutes of travel time (to and from our warehouse) is included in the 3.5-hour minimum. For moves outside city limits, additional travel charges may apply.
What's included in the hourly rate?
Everything! Our hourly rate includes the moving crew, truck, fuel, all equipment (dollies, blankets, straps), basic supplies (shrink wrap, tape), and stairs. No hidden fees.
How do I know how many movers I need?
We recommend 2 movers for 1-2 bedrooms, 3 movers for 2-3 bedrooms (most popular), and 4 movers for 3+ bedrooms or homes with heavy items. We can advise based on your inventory.
Can you move a piano or other heavy items?
Absolutely! We move pianos, pool tables, hot tubs, safes, and other heavy items regularly. These may require additional time and care, which we'll discuss in your quote.
Do you provide packing services?
Yes! We offer full and partial packing services at $150/hr. We bring all packing materials including boxes, bubble wrap, and tape. Many customers choose this to save time and ensure proper protection.
Are you insured?
Yes, we're fully licensed and insured. Industry standard insurance coverage is included in our rates. Additional coverage options are available if desired.
What if the move takes longer than expected?
You only pay for the actual time we work. We'll give you updates throughout the move so there are no surprises. Most moves finish within our estimate.
